What I dont like about KDE 4

What is th little "+" sign in dolphin ?? Whatever it does - it sucks.

The panel setting looks hideously ugly and is a usability nightmare

I cannot move my panel applets

No desktop icon ?? The Folder view sucks

No way to add files or shortcuts to the desktop !!

I cannnot right click on the menu entry of applications and do stuff like add to panel or properties, etc...??
There is no right click option for the application menu ?

Kicker sucks ! Ok I can go back to old style if needed - so its a non - issue for now. But kicker really sucksss !!
Its so bad that I didnt even take a screenshot !!

Apart for the above goof ups KDE 4 seems to be good looking and well done.

Well its not usable until those above basic things are fixed !!

The Open Source war is over - Microsoft

"How Microsoft stole open source"

Microsoft has been telling us that the "open source war is over" time to kiss and make up.

Here is the truth...

1. It is Microsoft who is at war with open source and not the other way around

2. Microsoft tried to kill open source with every way possible and still doing it

3. Open source is just minding its own business. It is Microsoft who has/is waging a war with open source because they have realized that it evaporating their huge margins and lockups.

Microsoft wants to stop the open source movement. Their "war is over" means please "open source" stop making our own business a commodity and let us live so that we can continue our evil ways and our 95% profits markups and our good old monopoly. We don't like competition in our own home turf although we enjoy destroying other companies and products.

ATI Vs. nVidia

ATI keeps open sourcing their Linux drivers.
Intel keeps open sourcing their Linux drivers.
VIA keeps open sourcing their Linux drivers.

Nvidia wants to keep their drivers closed.

How long can nVidia stand the pressure while their competitors are rushing ahead of them in the Linux market.

Sooner of later they will have to scum to the customers demands. Let them keep loosing market share to ATI. Till then....

Do not buy nVidia products. Let them die with their IP.

PRECIOUSSSSS...IP.

Beware FOSS developers

Microsoft is trying to buy the Free and Open Source developers.

They ignored it, they fought it, now they are buying them out.

They are spending a huge amount of money to do that.

Check groklaw article for more details...here

Its apache now, whats next : gnome, firefox, openoffice, kde ?

They have already hit Zend (PHP), Ruby (IronRuby), Python, Novell

We FOSS developers do not need them at all.

What is wrong with that ?

- Will you accept money from anyone who has fought you hard and ugly for years ?
- Will money change your opinion about good and evil ? How much money does it take to soften your heart ?
- Is money more important to you ?

The money Microsoft is giving you is all earned by evil ways. Do you want to be a part of that tainted money ? The balls in your court.

Microsoft is fighting Linux at the core. Linux directly hits them at the guts - their core cash cow - Operating Systems. The biggest disaster for them will be developers leaving their platform. No more lockin. No more money. They are trying to hijack the core applications running on Linux stack. They have tried every other way to stop it and have failed miserably. They give a damm about inter-operatibility. They want all applications running and dependent on Windows to keep their future monopoly.

Microsoft is not here to help us. Their strategy is to hijack the core applications running on Linux stack to their own Windows stack. They are doing this to harm the FOSS movement.

The fox in the sheep's clothing.

Are you going to drink the Microsoft cool-aid ?

Look at what has happened to Zend, Novell, Sourceforge, OSBF, OLPC, Asus EEE Pc. Do you want to join the Sith order ?
